Department
As an essential component of UGMC supply chain, the Stores Department holds itself to the highest standards of excellence in ensuring regular availability of health commodities and general goods for quality patient care. We believe stock security is not only the source of quality and effective service delivery but also a source of motivation for the internal clients who use these items for service delivery. In line with this, the department uses an electronic inventory control system to manage inventory which enhances all the practices and processes used to control inventory holding levels, minimize costs and bottlenecks and manage current and future stock requirements in a way that supports the day-to-day operations of the Medical Centre. Components of inventory management include:
- Determining order quantities
- Receiving inventories
- Storing inventories
- Issuing inventories
- Keeping Records
The Stores Department aligns itself to the Centre’s core values and overall strategic objectives. We add value in all our operational activities and our goal is to influence bottom line by contributing immensely to reduction of waste in the supply chain.
